Perspective Leads to Success

Next Shift is a multi-media, hockey platform created by former players - for the sports and professional world.

We founded Next Shift to inspire; by sharing the defining stories and lessons-learned of those who have not only faced, but conquered the challenges that the game and life, inevitably presents to us all. More specifically: we describe the unique experiences and impact that playing the game had on us - particularly as we stepped off the ice and into the office - and what we discovered in the transition. Each story shared aims to shows how adversity faced as an athlete can mold and create the proper mindset and skills to help us find and reach our post-sports goals and dreams as professionals, innovators and leaders.

Because we know how difficult it can be - whether it was that healthy scratch for the big playoff game that would have defined a career or a recently lost job - and we firmly believe that within all hockey players lies a shared DNA that gives us the strength to never give up, to always be looking and ready for the next shift.  Because it's not just stories, it's not just a game, it's our lives.

Our platform is here to equip each other to take on every opportunity, by leveraging that adversity, those lessons-learned, the friendships made and reestablishing that 'athletes mindset' to win the game of life.

Best Hockey Pod in the Game

Because there is life after the lights go out! Great job fellas. Keep 'em coming!

A Rink of It's Own

Honest conversations with outstanding guests about the game of hockey and life after. You won’t hear more candid, meaning conversations with top notch former/current players and coaches from every level about the journey that maybe has you hanging up the skates in one aspect, but never truely giving up the game in another. They fill a void in the sports podcast world, specifically hockey, with this one.

Former Chiclets Guy

Used to be a Chiclets guy .... NEXT SHIFT is Elite content , regardless of your hockey background the show is a MUST listen .... top of my charts for podcasts for sure #nextshiftnation

Great podcast, content, guests, and stories

Very enlightening podcast that gives a new twist on the normal hockey podcast, focusing on life lessons and making the difficult transition from being at the rink everyday to “normal everyday life”

Very Helpful for Athletes

Life after sports is tough when you’ve dedicated your life to it. It’s super helpful in hearing different career paths and choices people make after hockey, and all sports.

Anytime Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy talks about the game of hockey, the chances are very good that you’re going to learn something.

That was the case again this week as Cassidy had an hour-long conversation about his background, coaching the Bruins and his likes and dislikes as a coach while a guest on the “Next Shift Hockey Podcast.” The roughly hour-long conversation was worth a listen from beginning-to-end, but the story from...
